We ordered an Acer tree but mistakenly did not check here or TP for reviews

I echo many other customers experience and opinion of this company

Impossible to contact by phone and they just ignore emails toineedhelp@***.co.uk or to the CEO chris@***.co.uk

I have sent 2 request via their online contact process to zero response

The quality of the tree supplied was dreadful. The compost was bone dry and any idea of green leaves died with 4 days

Had to wait ages for the plants, then when they arrived, they were in such a state, many just dead or dying, or had been severely cut. Absolutely a joke company.

They are not responding to my communications, and they make customers pay to send plants back, but there are reviews of no refunds, so I have no choice but to keep *** plants that will likely just die.

Don't waste money. Avoid.

I'm 75 years old and I have never ever dealt with such an awful company! I really feel I've been scammed.

I ordered 10 lavender plants and they all arrived dead or dying, stacked on top of one another. I emailed the company with attached photos and got an email saying they needed photos of the labels on the pots which there weren't any. I replied explaining this and sending more photos of the bare pots. That was the last I've heard from them.

I've emailed time and time again asking for a response and it is like talking to a brick wall. Don't think there's any chance of receiving a refund of £46,89.

Dead plants! No customer service! No refund!

Gardening Express sent me dead, unhealthy plants, and after my initial complaint was answered with a further request to show them all of the dead plant passports, I quickly sent back the information requested. After seven days, I still haven't heard back from them despite me emailing them again.

A complete waste of money; a disgusting, unethical company. Please don’t purchase from them.

My order arrived on two occasions with damaged packaging. I unpacked immediately and found some of the plants damaged.

In particular, 2 plants had been grafted but had split. I have emailed 4 times, including photos, and asked for replacements, but received no response.

I took the plants to a reputable garden center and was told they had been incorrectly grafted. I want 2 replacements sent, but the company is ignoring me.

Diseased tree eventually delivered

Ordered a peach tree. Delivery took a month and I was ignored when I messaged Gardening Express to ask about my delivery.

When my tree arrived it had eaten leaves and was diseased.

I have complained but they want more photos and don't want to rectify the problem.

Buyer beware. Don't expect a good customer experience.

On receiving the plants the box was bent and ripped. After opening the box several branches were completely snapped off.

The plants looked very ill also. I still planted them in hope I could revive them with care. As time has gone by them are just getting worse. Ive been to the garden centre for advice too.

Ive uploaded pictures and sent them to Gardening Express 3 times. They have not acknowledged me on any occasion.

DIGUSTING COMPANY - If something doesn't show, there is no recourse

This is the 'live chat' (nb - it's not live chat, it says 'we'll get back to you' and then don't) message that I sent them on Friday after trying to contact them 4 times by email. Obviously, still no response from them.

Disgusting company. My order was placed more than 2 months ago!

Online chat message to Gardening Express :

Order number 70075****

You're not even available in the middle of the day on live chat???

I've sent 4 emails through your contact us form in the last 2 months. I had 1 reply to the first email and nothing since. Order still not arrived.

Easiest just to copy and paste my last message here:

This is my fifth message. I understand you're an online-only company, but you have had my money since 21.05. That is now nearly 2 months ago. I should be able to phone you, as out of all my messages, I have only received one response.

That was on 27.06 which in itself was over 1 month after my order. All that message said was 'I can see it's been dispatched so it should reach you soon'. I still don't have it. The fact that I have no one to speak to about sorting this out is ridiculous.

It wouldn't be so bad if I was getting proactive responses to my messages. All this in my personal time as I'm extremely busy with my own work. I know it's only £12.95, but it's the principle. Yodel has clearly lost this parcel.

Please look at the tracking link. I want those 2 bags of compost ASAP please.

Plants not in good condition

I Purchased 9 Lavender plants on 23rd August and these were delivered on 2nd September, On unpacking on 3rd September a lot of the plants were half dead, they had been packed so tightly with sticky tape that the pots were distorted and no moisture was getting to the plants the pots were distorted and I tried to form a round again and had to push the compost back in to the pots. My friend took a photograph a week later as I tried to revive them but to no avail I think that 4 of the Blue star will not survive and one of the Anouk also the white ones are very flimsy and one had the main shoot broken I have propped this up do not think that will survive either.

I am very disappointed in this delivery.

I believe that the problem lies atBeware when buying nu8merous plants the packaging stage. Yours sincerely Ann C Johnson

avoid avoid - do not buy! at your risk!

posting my review about a rose tree and several rose bushes I was conned into buying from gardening express - this review is a warning to potential customers about christopher bonnett's dodgy company!

I'm appalled at how this company treats their customers, especially Morgan.

I bought rose bushes and this tree being one as I wanted to start a new garden project. This tree was meant to be the centerpiece. It didn't grow. I spent over £170 on plants with my orders and after a while noticing it was dead alongside two other rose bushes I had bought, I contacted GE on 21.05.2025. It is now 16th June. First they got it wrong that it wasn't covered by the guarantee, it is. Then they said sorry they got confused. Then asked for proof. All the while blaming a faulty internal customer service management platform that moves your communications to the last of the queue if you chase up your previous email.

Of course if you are being ignored by a company and incompetence of the staff is adding to the problem you will chase them, so they've created the perfect excuse to steal your money and give you defective plants.

They even had the cheek to ask me to write a letter by hand and post it should I wish to complain. It's 2025 and they think I will write an essay, walk to the post office, pay for a stamp and post the letter - as if you're worth any effort at all, the stamp price and my time!

This now seems like a scam. My aim is to now raise awareness of this disaster of a company and warn other customers about their dodgy practices. Their director christopher bonnett must be made aware of how his company is taking a nosedive otherwise it must be that he is complicit and it's his business model - take customers' money, provide defective dead products and then create a broken customer service platform with clowns as staff to steal and cause so much frustration that they go away fed up.

I'm no such customer. I won't be taken for a ride.

Report this company to trading standards as they still haven’t responded to my constant emails and have still not issued me with a refund and are completely ignoring me ! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY ! Totally irresponsible and unacceptable behaviour !

Weeks and weeks ago I ordered some plants and two outdoor trees from this company and all that I ordered have arrived in such poor condition and were dead when they were delivered and the two trees I bought from them have died a week after I bought them ! Ive sent so many emails and pictures and they have not been responding to my emails for ages and Im housebound and disabled in a wheelchair so I cant go to garden centres !

Ive repeatedly asked for a refund from them and they havent responded until I told them I was going to report them to trading standards and you too! Today they responded and said that if I plant them and give them plenty of water that they will be fine but they arent they are completely dead ! Ive been gardening for years so I know what Im doing and all I want is a full refund from them !

I would be really grateful if you could contact them for me as they dont have a phone number and they take too long to reply ! Many thanks

My expensive order for my garden project just disappeared !!

Until now I have had no issues with this company, always happy with quality etc but then I decide to purchase olive trees and pay over £500 and nothing..it says they were shipped, maybe back to bloody Tuscany as I certainly dont have them!!! No phone number, 4 emails ignored. WTH am I supposed to do???

Ordered a korean fir as a birthday present. So far it has not been delivered.

I cannot speak to anyone and to get any answers I have to request a special form and apply for answers. They do not make it easy for the customer.
