Don't buy bare rooted plants from this company. They do not have a phone number either so very hard to contact except for email which just got ignored.
I ordered a bare-root rose from Gardening Express earlier this year, which completely failed to grow and is now clearly dead. It was supposed to be covered under their Bare Root Guarantee until the end of July.
I followed all the proper care steps and provided photo evidence, but after initially responding, they stopped replying to my emails altogether.
I've now contacted them multiple times with no resolution. The plant was only £20, but it's the principle; if they don't honour their guarantee or respond to customers, how can they be trusted?

Verified Reviewer |Delayed Delivery - Nearly a month and still not despatched
I had placed my order on May 3. It has now been 17 working days and almost a month overall without any update on my order.
The online order status still indicates that it hasn't been shipped, and there are no tracking details available. I have contacted them via the online form and email several times, but they send a template response without providing a clear and honest answer regarding the shipment of my order. I have also asked them to please issue a full refund and offer compensation for this experience.
This would at least enable me to purchase plants from another store. I have already lost nearly a month of good weather and bank holiday weekends.

Verified Reviewer |Very very poor service & dead plants
Really awful company - my order took forever to come - over 4 weeks , nobody replied to emails. The order came in dribs and drabs and essentially half dead, most of the plants are now completely dead despite careful treatment.
When I emailed them to complain I was completely ignored over three times , despite sending photos. I have wasted £120 & wound recommend avoiding this company at all costs, bunch of scammers.

Verified ReviewerVery happy with speed of delivery but the parcel was damaged and one of the rose bushes had the branches broken
The parcel was all crushed when delivered and one of the rose bushes is damaged would like a replacement for the one that is damaged please

Ordered 2 x trees, received 2 x dead twigs
The two trees I ordered were not much more than two dead twigs, each with a ball root in a poly bag. Being disabled I paid a gardener £30 to plant them after receiving assurances that they would recover.
Two months later after making sure they were watered properly, still two dead twigs. Trying to get a reply from them is impossible, so it looks like I will have to make a chargeback.

Just don’t buy from them
The worst company ever.
Please do not waste your time ordering plants from this company. There are so many more reputable centres for plants.
I received my order after one month. No information was given for the delay and no apologies.Plants were all packed together, pots and branches were broken and in bad condition.
Had I looked at some of their reviews I would not have ordered.

Just received 2 delphinium, white, they are just about dead, I have the pics
They must have been distributed over a week ago from the state of them, it took an age to get them out if packaging, I had to rip boxes ti get them out so can't send them back. Now what do I do.

Ordered 3 plants. One arrived, then I was told by Yodel they had delivered the second, sadly not to my house!
The third plant has still not arrived.
I have tried to contact Gardening Express and Yodel - absolute waste of time. Don't use them.

Order is overdue, you report it and absolutely nothing in response. You can do that all day long; it's an automated service, and it is a complete waste of time. Gardening Express used to be reliable, but not now.

Terrible
Don't deliver on time, plants are dead, won't refund your money and half the order is missing.
You cannot contact by the phone on their contact contact us section of the website state if you keep sending emails they will go to the back of the Q or into Spam.
All telephone numbers on the internet are defunct and the email for Chris Bonnet CEO is defunct.also. I would encourage everyone to put a negative rating on Trust Pilot too.

Verified ReviewerFailure to respond to their contact forms re a serious complaint
I have finally had a response...asking for me to return all items (even though some were not delivered) at my own expense and the ones they deem in good condition will be refunded. However as this has been going on for over a month with no response (and they ask for contact within 14 days) the non-viable plants I have disposed of as most were ruined. I have now threatened them with legal action...but that is subject to them reading the message!
£450 order delivered by yodel. One box arrived on 30th April, 9 out of !0 further boxes arrived next day (Yodel) all squashed, damaged and taped up.
Plants unsurprisingly irreversibly damaged and some missing. Need a refund.
Sent 7 x "contact us" forms but no response in 14 days. What do I do???
They have no phone number and only this contact us form to fill in...and its not as though they will have to pay out as they can reclaim it from Yodel...have sent loads of pics but NO RESPONSE

Poor quality of tree senr
I have ordered a mature Magnolia Genie for the price of just over £79. This was on offer.
Tree arrived in a tall carboard box with the bottom part of the box soaking wet and broken. Upon inspection of the tree the provisional pot was broken and there was surprisingly not much of a soil given the the size of the tree (over 5 feet). The tree had some leave buds but all were brown and shrivelled including the branches. I have taken photos and contacted garden express upon arrival of the tree.
Was told to give it somw time and pot it up which I have done. It has now been a month. The tree remains in the same condition except for minimal leafing out at 1 of the branches and only in the lower portion of the branch. I have checked for aigns of life on the other branches but there isn't any.
All the dark brown branches are dry and snapped off. Yet again I have contacted garden express and was told not to worry and to give it more time as it has signs of life. The tree was bought mature for a reaaon as it was meant to have an instant impact which is not the case. It is just a stick now with only 1/2 of one branch with leaves.
I will never buy anything form gardening express after this experience. Paying almost £87 with postage for a tree that is an eyesore is not something that I would ever expect. Especially since there is suppose to be a 5 year guarantee.
I am continuing to insist on a refund yet I am sure that it will most likely go ignored. Oh and as for the shipping - it takes very long from ordering and no updates in between!!!

Abysmal customer service
I ordered a rose bush 4.7.25, £21.??? c Apart from initial order confirmation & 6 emails, no contact , I spoke to my bank and cancelled order with said company, still no response, 2 weeks later, my order arrived.
No customer service whatsoever.
do not use if you need contact.
No Customer Care
I place an order for a selection of plants, a small bag of compost and ten bags of decorative bark on 1st of May.
On the 19th of May, way outside their claimed delivery timescale, I received a partial delivery of the compost an 1 bag of bark.
I complained via their web page form and received an email stating that the rest of the order was ready to ship. I emailed back asking them to be sure the remainder of the bags of bark were included as I suspected a clerical error or picking error.
I received no response from my email, not even a recognition of the potential issue.
Since then, I have emailed and contacted via the web page multiple times with absolutely no response.
They still owe me 9 bags of Bark or approx. £90.
As they have no physical presence and are web only I am not sure what else I can do.
